On January 23rd, I’ll be flying in to Moncton, New Brunswick and setting up the CCPFH booth for the Work Canada Fish Canada tradeshow at the Coliseum. The show lasts two days, the 24th and 25th. I’m excited to set up the booth with some of our products and information and to set up a table where fish harvesters can test out the Fishing Vessel Stability Simulator created by the CCPFH in conjunction with the Marine Institute. We’ve also partnered up with EcoTrust and will have a colourful table where you can get info from Ruth Inniss on the ThisFish program.
What makes me most excited about this show is that for the first time, the Fish Canada Workboat Canada show has added seminars and presentations, and the CCPFH will be taking part. Our presentation is happening on the 24th at 11:30 am and is titled Fisherman to Fisherman – Canadian Fishing Stories. I’m very lucky to have Ronnie Heighton, President of the Gulf of Nova Scotia Fleet Planning Board and Vice-President of the CCPFH along with me for the presentation. Together, we’ll be showing the poignant video series Kobb Media created for us. After the video presentation, we’ll discuss some of the themes of the videos and some of the work the Council has done to address some of the issues.
Come on by to booth 349 and visit myself, Ronnie and Ruth. We’ve got lots of information and maybe even a few give-aways. Tickets are $15 at the door and show hours are Friday from 10 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm.
